Before performing facial liposuction, the doctor requests some pre-operative tests. These include:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Blood count;<\/li>\n<li>Coagulogram;<\/li>\n<li>Electrocardiogram.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the patient has any associated medical conditions, the plastic surgeon may request a specific examination for the pathology. In addition, it is also important to:<\/p>\n<p>Inform your doctor if you have any illnesses or infections, and if you routinely use any medications. Tell them about any abnormalities or recent use of medications, drug allergies, or food allergies.;<\/p>\n<p>Discontinue use, for 15 days prior to the procedure, of medications containing acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), anticoagulants, corticosteroids for prolonged use, or weight-loss medications;<\/p>\n<p>Do not smoke for 30 days prior to facial liposuction;<\/p>\n<p>Avoid consuming alcoholic beverages and fatty foods the day before surgery. Begin a complete fast, including water, ten hours before facial aspiration.;<\/p>\n<p>On the day of surgery, do not apply facial or body creams and do not wear makeup or dark nail polish;<\/p>\n<p>Do not wear metal accessories such as rings, wedding bands, earrings, piercings, bracelets, or necklaces on the day of surgery. Opt for comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that does not need to be pulled over your head, as these will be worn after you are discharged.<\/p>\n      <\/div>\n          <div class=\"m-content-topics__article\" id=\"como-e-feita-a-lipoaspiracao-facial\">\n        <h2 class=\"m-content-topics__article__title\">\n          <a href=\"#como-e-feita-a-lipoaspiracao-facial\">\n            How is facial liposuction performed?          <\/a>\n        <\/h2>\n        <p>Facial liposuction is performed through small incisions (0.5 to 1.0 cm) in strategic locations.<\/p>\n<p>The doctor injects an adrenaline solution through these incisions to reduce bleeding and trauma. Then, a cannula connected to a suction device or syringe is inserted, and with controlled back-and-forth movements, the excess fat is aspirated (vacuum aspiration). If necessary, in some cases, the patient may require the use of drains, which will be removed after one to three days. The surgeon then closes the incisions, applies dressings, and places a compression garment on the area, which should be worn for a period of two months.<\/p>\n      <\/div>\n          <div class=\"m-content-topics__article\" id=\"cuidados-no-pos-operatorio-da-lipoaspiracao-facial\">\n        <h2 class=\"m-content-topics__article__title\">\n          <a href=\"#cuidados-no-pos-operatorio-da-lipoaspiracao-facial\">\n            Post-operative care for facial liposuction:          <\/a>\n        <\/h2>\n        <p>After facial liposuction, the patient may experience swelling, pain, and a burning sensation. These are temporary effects and can be managed with outpatient treatment. Spots may also appear, which disappear in about 15 days.<\/p>\n      <\/div>\n          <div class=\"m-content-topics__article\" id=\"veja-alguns-cuidados-importantes-no-pos-operatorio-da-lipoaspiracao-facial\">\n        <h2 class=\"m-content-topics__article__title\">\n          <a href=\"#veja-alguns-cuidados-importantes-no-pos-operatorio-da-lipoaspiracao-facial\">\n            Here are some important post-operative care tips for facial liposuction:          <\/a>\n        <\/h2>\n        <p>Avoid sun exposure for at least 30 days to reduce the risk of skin discoloration.;<br \/>\nAvoid physical exercise for at least one week. More intense activities, such as running, swimming, and weight training, should only be resumed after three months.;<br \/>\nIf possible and after medical advice, undergo lymphatic drainage, as the procedure helps to reduce swelling and promotes better healing;<br \/>\nAvoid driving for the first three days after facial liposuction;<br \/>\nWhen going to bed, keep your head elevated for five days. Usually, there will be no restrictions on your sleeping position.;<br \/>\nWhen showering, remove the compression garment, get in the shower and wash the operated areas with the prescribed soap. Wash the wounds carefully.;<br \/>\nAlways have a clean face towel separate for drying the operated area and a regular towel for drying the rest of your body. In the operated area, dry it by gently pressing the area and do not rub. Immediately put on the compression garment;<br \/>\nAfter the stitches are removed, massage the scars with the prescribed oil for the time recommended by your doctor.<br \/>\nSurgical stitches are removed between seven and ten days after facial liposuction.
