Generally, fat deposits develop in various areas of the body, areas of persistent accumulation even after regular exercise and proper diets, contributing to a disproportionate appearance of the body contour. Liposuction works by removing excess adipose tissue, restoring the contour and creating a slimmer appearance. Liposuction can be performed alone or in conjunction with other procedures for abdominal reduction. Liposuction is not an effective treatment for cellulite or obesity. Individuals undergoing liposuction should be healthy and relatively thin, with firm, elastic skin and good muscle tone, and only 30% above their ideal weight.<\/p>\n      <\/div>\n          <div class=\"m-content-topics__article\" id=\"preparo-cirurgico-e-incisao\">\n        <h2 class=\"m-content-topics__article__title\">\n          <a href=\"#preparo-cirurgico-e-incisao\">\n            Surgical preparation and incision          <\/a>\n        <\/h2>\n        <p>Liposuction procedures can last from 1 to 5 hours depending on the extent and technique used. Before starting liposuction, the treated area must be cleaned and anesthetized. Depending on the complexity of the procedure and the amount of fat to be removed, we use general or local anesthesia in conjunction with IV sedation. After sedation, the surgeon makes a single incision or multiple incisions in the gluteal crease at the insertion of the thighs. However, the surgeon may make incisions in alternative locations, depending on the procedure. The scars will be hidden within the body contours.<\/p>\n      <\/div>\n          <div class=\"m-content-topics__article\" id=\"injecao-de-solucao-tumescente\">\n        <h2 class=\"m-content-topics__article__title\">\n          <a href=\"#injecao-de-solucao-tumescente\">\n            tumescent solution injection          <\/a>\n        <\/h2>\n        <p>Although several liposuction techniques exist, the tumescent technique is the most widely used. Before removing the fat, a liquid is injected into the area to be treated through a device with an opening called a cannula. Using a back-and-forth motion, the fat in the area is loosened and separated. Suction is performed with a surgical aspirator connected to the opposite side of the cannula to remove the fat. In some cases, the fat can be removed manually with a syringe connected to the cannula. Although fat cells are permanently removed from the treated area with the procedure, it is important to note that liposuction does not prevent weight gain.
