They can happen hereditarily or as a consequence of aging.<br \/>\nEntropion: this is the type of case when the edge of the eyelid ends up turning and overlapping the eyeball. The eye ends up becoming irritated by contact. If left untreated, the case can develop into an infection and even loss of vision;<br \/>\nEctropion: is the opposite of the above. In this case, the edge turns outwards, which leaves the eyeball more unprotected;<br \/>\nPtosis: when the upper eyelid is droopy. This can lead to blocking of the field of vision;<br \/>\nTumors: styes and chalazions, for example.<\/p>\n<h3>Alteration of the tear duct<\/h3>\n<p>Tearing: occurs when there is excess production of tears, caused by an infection, for example. Surgery is responsible for opening a new path for tears;<br \/>\nDry eyes: occurs in cases of decreased tear production. When the use of eye drops is not enough, surgery becomes an option.<\/p>\n<h3>Orbit change<\/h3>\n<p>Unaesthetic eyes: in cases of trauma or serious infection, the eye is reconstructed or even removed. Surgery reconstitutes the globe with implants;<br \/>\nRetraction: occurs when tumors are caused by changes in the thyroid. The doctor may prescribe medication for pain and also to prevent infections.
